Carly Feldman
I am a registered social worker and early childhood educator with extensive knowledge in child development through a trauma-informed lens. I have 10 years of varied experience as a mental health clinician. I have worked with children as young as 6 in an education setting, as well as youth and young adults as a mental health therapist. My expertise is in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationship challenges, self-esteem struggles, life transitions and emotion regulation. Overall, my aim is to help them break negative self talk and unhealthy habits. I draw from CBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for teens (MBSR-T), Trauma-Informed Care and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. Additionally, I can effectively help with challenges related to learning disabilities and ADHD.
I am skilled in building rapport, particularly with children 6-12, which allows me to easily build trust within the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, I have specific experience and understanding in working with survivors of sex trafficking and sexual assault.
My therapeutic approach is client-centred, rooted in empathy and connection. I provide my clients with a safe and non-judgmental space to navigate the various stressors in their lives and the difficult emotions they may be experiencing. As a collaborative practitioner, my work with clients is always tailored to their wants, needs and goals.
